Install Discovery Admin

Introduction
NOTE: The UI has changed starting with the Washington DC ServiceNow Release.
Please align the steps below to match the UI in the Washington DC ServiceNow Release.
Follow the steps below to install Discovery Admin on your ServiceNow Instance.
Step 1:
Navigate to: System Definitions > Plugins
Search for: Discovery Admin
Tip 01: What if Discovery Admin isn't visible in the Search Results?
Follow the guidelines to Manage Discovery Admin Entitlements for your ServiceNow Instance.
Tip 02: What if the Install Button is greyed out?
ServiceNow automatically disables new App Installs if you are outside the 30-day Free Trial window or if your Discovery Admin subscription has expired.
Please reach out to your Discovery Admin point-of-contact for resolution.
Step 2:
Click: Install and follow the prompts presented in the UI to complete the installation. Once initiated, the installation should complete within 5 minutes.
It’s normal for the installation to move rapidly to above 90% complete, and wait there for a couple minutes before it gets completed.
IMPORTANT:
Reload the browser page to ensure the Discovery Admin is visible in the Left Navigation
Step 3:
To validate the successful installation of Discovery Admin:
Navigate to: Discovery Admin
You will see the Discovery Admin Application along with the following two modules under the Discovery Admin Application:
- Properties
- Contact QuickNexus
Tip 03: What roles are needed to run Discovery Admin
Discovery Admin does NOT ship with any custom roles.
It can be run and managed with the following out-of-the-box roles:
- discovery_admin: this role should already be assigned to the ServiceNow Discovery Support Team to manage ServiceNow Discovery
- itil: this role should already be assigned to the ServiceNow Discovery Support Team and the Infrastructure Support Team(s) to manage Incidents assigned to them
In summary, there is no User Administration overhead with Discovery Admin
