Introduction

 

Customers have the option to request Database Indexes from ServiceNow to further improve the performance of Discovery Admin.

While Database Indexes are not applicable for database writes, there could be tangible improvement, if the correct indexes are applied for the read queries executed by Discovery Admin.


 

Request Database Indexes

 

To request Database Indexes specific to your ServiceNow Instance, a Ticket needs to be opened with ServiceNow. You can use the following text:

We have the Discovery Admin App from the ServiceNow Store and we are looking for help with database indexes aligned with the queries generated by this App, to increase the overall performance.


This is similar to what ServiceNow Support has done for their other customers.

We are looking to apply Database Indexes for Queries on the following Tables in ServiceNow:

x_qune_da_log_analysis

x_qune_da_troubleshooting

cmdb_ci

task

dscy_credentials_affinity


We have already run the Discovery Admin App in our instances so you will have a reference for the queries that need to be optimized via database indexes.
